Coordinated inauthentic behaviour describes multiple accounts working together to amplify a single message while actively disguising that underlying coordination, creating a false impression of widespread independent agreement where none genuinely exists among real, unconnected people. It differs from ordinary organic enthusiasm mainly in the deliberate coordination itself.
Signals worth watching for include accounts posting nearly identical content within remarkably tight timeframes, unusually synchronised creation dates clustered across a group of accounts, and engagement that spikes suddenly rather than building gradually the way genuinely organic interest typically tends to build over time on its own, without any outside coordination behind it at all.
Spotting this pattern usually requires looking carefully across several accounts at once rather than judging any single post entirely in isolation, since the real tell lies in the coordination between the accounts themselves, not in the content any one of them individually happens to post there all alone.
