Some accounts exist purely to generate the appearance of popularity for later sale, posting only minimal original content while steadily accumulating followers or likes that can then be transferred elsewhere or used to inflate another, entirely separate account's apparent reach and influence within a much larger network of purchased followers.
These accounts often show a thin, fairly generic posting history with little genuine engagement to speak of, mismatched follower demographics relative to their stated topic or niche, and activity patterns that look distinctly mechanical rather than organically building up over time the way genuine, real interest normally always tends to.
Recognising this pattern matters most when evaluating whether an account's apparent popularity should carry any real weight in assessing the credibility of what it actually posts, since manufactured reach genuinely says nothing at all about the accuracy of the underlying content itself, however popular the account itself happens to appear to be.
