Recognising A Parody Account's Disclaimer

Parody and fan accounts often carry a small disclaimer somewhere in the bio, words like 'parody', 'fan account' or 'not affiliated', included specifically to distinguish the account clearly from the real person or organisation it references throughout its content. These disclaimers are genuinely easy to miss when scrolling quickly through a feed.
The trouble is that a disclaimer buried in a bio does relatively little to prevent a screenshot of a single post from circulating widely without that context attached to it. A joke clearly framed within the account itself can end up looking like a genuine, serious statement once removed from its original setting.
Before treating any post as genuine, it is worth checking the source account directly for such a disclaimer, rather than relying purely on the tone of the post alone to signal whether it was ever meant seriously in the first place by whoever wrote it.
