A profile's creation date is one of the simplest checks available, and also one of the easiest to overlook entirely when scrolling quickly. An account claiming years of established presence but showing a join date from last month is not automatically fake, but the mismatch is genuinely worth noting before trusting anything it goes on to post.
Activity history matters alongside the raw date itself. A long standing account with steady, varied posts over time behaves quite differently to one that sat dormant for years before suddenly posting in a coordinated burst, a pattern more often associated with repurposed or purchased accounts than with organic, gradual growth over time.
Neither signal proves anything conclusively on its own. Genuine new accounts exist for entirely ordinary reasons, and genuine old accounts can still be compromised later on. The real value lies in noticing when the visible timeline does not match the story a profile is actively telling about itself.
