Practising Verification Under Time Pressure

Real world verification very often happens under some meaningful degree of time pressure, a message demanding a genuinely quick reply, a decision that simply cannot wait indefinitely for a full check, which makes deliberately practising under a mild, controlled time constraint considerably more realistic than always working entirely at leisure.

Set a short, clearly defined window and try to complete the fastest reliable version of your usual checking process within it: a quick source check, a rapid reverse search, rather than the fuller, more thorough version used when time genuinely allows for it, entirely without any pressure at all present.

This builds a genuinely specific and useful skill, knowing precisely which checks give the most reliable information the fastest, quite distinct from the fuller process practised elsewhere in calmer conditions, and valuable precisely because real situations do not always allow for unlimited time to check absolutely everything properly before deciding.
