Cloned Website Recognition

A cloned website copies a genuine site's overall design closely enough to pass a quick, casual glance, often reached through a lookalike domain or a link shared in a message rather than through a direct search of the genuine business, which is itself already a useful warning sign worth noticing early.

Small inconsistencies often remain even in a well made clone: a slightly different layout somewhere on the page, broken links scattered elsewhere on the site, missing pages that a genuine site would normally have, or a checkout process that behaves noticeably differently from what the real, genuine business normally uses for its own customers.

Navigating directly to a known, bookmarked address rather than blindly following a link, and checking the domain carefully before entering any personal details at all, remains the most reliable way to avoid a convincing clone entirely, no matter how polished it happens to look at first.
