Building Trust Gradually Rather Than All At Once

Extending full, complete trust to an unfamiliar account immediately, based purely on a single convincing post or private message received, skips entirely the gradual process that genuine trust normally and reasonably requires to build properly over time. A more measured approach instead treats an unfamiliar account's claims as provisional until a broader history can actually be checked thoroughly.
This does not mean adopting permanent suspicion toward everyone, since most accounts genuinely turn out to be exactly what they present themselves as being, but a brief pause for proper verification before acting on anything significant, financial requests especially, costs remarkably little in practice and protects a great deal in return.
Building this particular habit consistently, applied evenly across every interaction rather than only when something already feels obviously suspicious at first glance, is what actually catches the cases specifically designed from the very outset not to feel suspicious at all to anyone watching rather closely.
