A Peer Review Exercise For Shared Links

Ask students to bring in a link they encountered fairly recently and would honestly have shared without much thought at all, then pair up to check each other's example using the class verification checklist, source, date, corroboration, context, applied carefully together as a working pair.
Peer review works particularly well here because it removes the natural awkwardness of checking your own instinct and replaces it with a second, considerably less invested perspective from someone else. It is often far easier to spot a small gap in someone else's reasoning than it is to spot the same gap in your own thinking.
Discuss as a group afterward which links held up genuinely under review and which did not, focusing closely on what specifically changed each student's assessment rather than simply recording a bare pass or fail verdict for each link that was reviewed during the shared session, and why that shift happened.
