A Partner Exercise On Claim Checking

Pair up with someone else and each bring a claim you personally encountered recently, then swap with your partner and check each other's example fully independently before finally comparing notes together afterward. A second person applying the exact same process to unfamiliar material often catches gaps that simple self checking alone tends to miss entirely.

Discuss any disagreement in your final conclusions carefully, rather than simply treating it as one person being straightforwardly right. Differences here often reveal genuinely ambiguous evidence rather than any clear cut error, which is itself a genuinely useful and quite realistic thing for both partners to notice and discuss together openly.

Rotating partners regularly over several sessions exposes each person to a considerably wider range of different checking styles and habits, steadily broadening the toolkit each person eventually brings to their own independent verification work carried out afterward entirely on their own, without any further help.
